Our client, National Quarries Company Ltd, is a state-owned Company situated in North East Trinidad and engaged in the extraction and production of quality aggregate products. The Company is seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons for the position of:

IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR-
AROUCA OFFICE

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the IT Systems Administrator is accountable for ensuring that the Company’s needs for information to support effective planning and decision making are met.

Key functions include support to end users including monitoring of operations of the Company’s servers and work stations to ensure effective storage and retrieval systems are in place. Implementation of IT procedures and technical support for installation of hardware, software and netware are important deliverables as are recommendations for continuous improvement of IT systems and procedures. Job progress reports and
monitoring of internet usage are also important.

Additional accountabilities include:

  • Support and training in application software and system use

  • Design and monitoring of computer networks
  • Ensuring that appropriate backups are in place as required
  • Monitoring of all IT servers, workstations and applications and taking of necessary remedial action
  • Providing costings for IT-related expenses
  • Carrying out of minor repairs to computes and related facilities.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology and two or more years’ experience in providing end user support and the training of end users. Specific competencies will include:

  • Setting up of work stations, network protocols and client server technology

  • De-bugging and minor computer repairs
  • Facility with Windows Server 2000, 2003, Windows 98SE, NT&XP and Microsoft Office.
