CAREER OPPORTUNITY
The Seafood Industry Development Company Limited is seeking a qualified candidate for the following position for a period of two (2) years.
PROJECT OFFICER
The Project Officer will form part of a multi-disciplinary team and would be responsible for assisting with the development, design, implementation and management of SIDC projects. The Project Officer will also monitor, evaluate and report on the progress of projects as well as provide Project Management and related training to staff and industry stakeholders as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Primary responsibility would be to assist with the preparation of project proposals, as well as implementing, coordinating and monitoring all projects of the SIDC.
- Collaborate and work closely with members of staff of the SIDC, staff from other Government agencies that collaborate with the SIDC, and stakeholders on projects that reflect the priorities of the SIDC, and the Seafood Sector in general.
- Undertake research activities relevant to SIDC projects.
- Prepare reports on the status of the projects and make recommendations as necessary to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide inputs in the preparation of Annual Budgets.
- Assist with the preparation of Annual Reports, Mid-Term Reviews, Monthly Updates and Quarterly Reports on PSIP projects.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Postgraduate Qualification in Project Design and Management
- Five years relevant work experience
- Must have good knowledge and experience in project management.
- Be familiar with the Trinidad and Tobago Government procurement and PSIP funding policies, procedures and requirements.
- Excellent problem solving capabilities.
- Some knowledge of the local fishing industry would be an asset.
