Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited is an energy-based Company located on the Point Lisas Industial Estate. Its core business is natural gas processing, the aggregation, fractionation, storage and marketing of natural gas liquids.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY

CORPORATE ATTORNEY/CONTRACT POSITION (6 MONTHS)

Job Summary
Reporting to the Vice President-Finance & IT, the Corporate Attorney is accountable for the technical and administrative management of the legal function within the organization.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Provides in-house legal counsel including but not limited to industrial relations, environmental matters, regulatory issues, business development issues, product marketing issues, project financing, contracts and litigation.
  • Prepares and reviews contracts, policies, leases etc. and collaborates with the respective department to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Researches and prepares legal opinions on matters of corporate relevance and importance.
  • Manages the work product of external counsel and prepares status reports as required.
  • Administers the legal function within the approved budgets.
  • Provides administrative supervision of the Compliance function.
  • Maintains and safeguards legal records and original contract documents.
  • Compiles, updates and monitors a legal database.
  • Appears in courts as and when the need arises e.g. seeking jury exemptions for employees.
  • Performs corporate/company secretarial duties including the completion and filing of statutory and regulatory returns and ensures that the Board of Directors in operating within legal parameters.
  • Sits as the legal resource on the Tenders Committee to evaluate and approve RFPs and tenders.

Qualification and Experience

  • A Legal Education Certificate.
  • A Bachelor of Law Degree or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years post admission experience preferably in Corporate and Contract law.

Skills / Knowledge Requirements

  • Negotiation skills.
  • Developed oral, writing and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • A team player with the ability to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Time management skills.
  • Understanding of organization policies and procedures.

Please note that consideration will also be given to applicants who can work on a part-time basis
-3 days per week at a minimum.
