Career Opportunity (contract)
In keeping with the strategic role for the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force, the Air Guard Formation is required to operate with a cadre adequate to meet the demands of a military aviation body in accordance with international standards. Applications are therefore invited for suitably qualified nationals of Trinidad and Tobago to fill the following contract position in the Air Guard Formation of the Trinidad and Tobago Defense Force, Ministry of National Security.
COMMAND PILOT
Role: Reporting of the Chief Pilot/Director of Flight Training, the incumbent will engage in critical flight operations and assist with the development training of other pilots.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Flies missions in command of the C-26 aircraft in particular.
- Flies missions in command of other Coast Guard aircraft in general.
- Develops the skills set of a pool of pilots.
- Assists with the identification and upgrade of possible command pilots from the pool of co-pilots.
- Assists with development, implementation, and maintenance of flight standards on the C-26 aircraft in particular and the other Coast Guard aircraft in general.
- performs any other related duties assigned by Commanding Officer, Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Evidence of 3,000 flying hours.
- Evidence of 1,500 flying hours P1 or P1 US in command of a multi-engine aircraft of which 500 may be in command of a light twin below 12,500 lbs.
- Excellent communications skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work as a team member in a dynamic environment.
