Assistant Manager – Branch Channels

OBJECTIVE
To develop channel segmentation and optimization plans that will increase channel profitability and adoption rates. To proactively identify market opportunities for channel deployment and develop an integrated and on-going channel migration and marketing plan which blends economic and non-economic incentives targeted at the right customers.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
Financial

  • To conduct location and functional analysis to predict and review appropriate delivery channel networks such that channel usage and investments will be optimized.

  • To recommend tactical approaches for implementation by evaluating the competition, product environment, new and existing delivery channels and evolving issues.
  • Explore and identify business opportunities for expanding and developing delivery channels.

Internal Operations

  • To analyze, design and implement efficient operational processes to support the Banks’ delivery channels, using best practice delivery channels’ methodologies, field trials & prototypes.

  • To promote customer and internal staff education of delivery channel capabilities while monitoring progress & reporting to stakeholders, issue & risk management.

Customer

  • To manage a customer/channel experience research program to gain understanding of the different customer segments and their preferences.

  • Key involvement with customer-centric projects for multi-channel delivery focused on delivery channels capabilities and functionalities.
  • To ensure integration of delivery channels plans with customer segmentation, customer service and product strategies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capabilities and educate customers to shift preferences to overcome segment resistance.

Learning & Growth

  • To foster and encourage good working relationships and co-operation among team members, through effective communication and motivation.

  • To proactively be involved in active self assessment to determine training and development needs.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • A University Degree or equivalent education/training in a related field. A degree in Business Management would be an asset.

  • Three (3) years financial services experience in a research, marketing or business planning role.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years in retail banking with supervisory experience in a customer service/sales role. Working knowledge of front and back office processes.

CRITICAL SKILLS:

  • Strong customer focus and experience with customer problem resolution. Strong communication and problem solving ability is necessary;

  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial reports and synthesize market research data.
  • Ability to acquire and apply knowledge;
  • Demonstrates intelligence, articulation, high-energy and creativity to identify what motivates customers;
  • Demonstrates the ability to get things done in a highly matrixed organization; must be a strong team player;
  • Proven ability to gather market, customer and cost data and adjust approach/define alternate collections methods when key data is not available
