CONTRACTS COORDINATOR

Shell Western Supply & Trading Ltd. (SWST) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the vacant position of Contracts Coordinator.

Shell Western Supply and Trading Ltd. (SWST) is part of the global Shell Trading Network with offices around the world, and is involved in the International oil and freight trading activities in the Caribbean, Central America, South America and West Africa.

This position is within the Contracts department, which provides a commercially driven contract advisory service to the Crude, Products and LPG trading teams in Shell West, and is responsible for the management of the entire oil trading contracts administration processes, from pre-deal advice to drafting, internal authorization and dispatch of contracts/contract responses.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT WILL NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Drafting of spot and term contracts in close liaison with the trading floor (internal clients) using our in house contract generation system CCM.

  • Liaison with internal clients and third parties to ensure contracts accurately reflect the term agreed, and maintenance of electronic contracts as recorded in the deal capture system.
  • Work very closely with the Commercial Advisors within their team to assess complete maintenance Management of the entire oil trading contracts administration process.
  • Handle contract queries with third parties on behalf of internal clients where appropriate.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good communication skills (Oral & Written)

  • The successful applicant will ideally have had some mid office deal confirmations experience within the oil industry (physical or derivative). Less experienced candidates will be considered, as full training will be provided.
  • Highly analytical. Attention to detail will be critical in this role.
  • Ability to organize own work and time to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Experience in energy, commodity trading or shipping environment in a commercial operational, legal or paralegal/contract administration role would be an asset.
  • Must have a first degree in Business.
  • The ideal candidate must be a team player, must be self driven and have a high achievement motivation.

There will be a significant degree of customer contact internally, with other parts of the Shell Trading organization and with third parties. This will require proven interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as the ability to work effectively within a team both locally and globally.
