Procurement Manager – Consumables
The Finance & Procurement Unit invites suitable applications for the position of Procurement Manager – Consumables. The successful candidate will plan, direct and manage the central procurement activities of the Consumables Section of Procurement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Develop and review new or improved administrative, purchasing and clerical procedures.
- Compose Requests for Proposal (RFP) and oversee the Tendering process.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions of payment, as well as handle complex supplier related issues.
- Review and approve purchase orders and service contracts within signing authority.
- Monitor market trends; report and analyze market intelligence.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related field, Public Administration, Engineering, Science or related field; or Certificate as a Certified Public Purchasing Officer.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a university type environment.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant professional experience within a procurement department.
- Must possess effective communication skills.
- Must be organized and efficient in maintaining, administering, co-ordinating and controlling functions of a procurement nature.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
