TELECOMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
VACANCY
The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (the Authority) is seeking to a recruit a suitably qualified professional on a six (6) month contact to fill the position identified hereunder. The Authority is an independent regulatory body responsible for the liberalization and regulation of both the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors in Trinidad and Tobago. CONTACT OFFICER – IT ADMINISTRATION
DURATION: SIX (6) MONTHS
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The incumbent will be required to provide support to the Information Technology Department in the following areas, as well as assist with other IT matters as identified by the Information Technology Specialist:-
- Maintains the IT network and Information Systems of the Authority.
- Manages the IT requirements of the Spectrum Management System.
- Installs new software release, system upgrades and resolves system related problems.
- Maintains system documentation and logs.
- Perform other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field:
- MCSA/MCSE certified.
- MCDBA and Cisco certifications (CCNA) will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of four years experience with Microsoft Windows Administration, and implementation with three+ years in a Windows 2000/2003 environment supporting
- 40+ users, experience with Group Policies: Software, Security and support of remote users via SSL and VPN technologies..
- At least two years experience operating Window 2003 Exchange Infrastructure.
- At least two years experience with SQL Server 2000 and 2005..
- Website development and/or database administration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the Information Technology Department supporting its activities and responsibilities
- provide support to employees on matters relating to IT equipment and software..
- Manages the equipment repair process.
- Performs and coordinates the effective installation and performance of advanced operating system hardware on servers.
- Performs basic systems administration functions, including creating customer profiles and accounts.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of:
- IP routing protocols and technologies, especially: TCP/IP, SNMP, BGP4, OSPF and IPv6.
- PBX Systems.
- DHCP, DNS.
- Ability to:
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate willingness to work as part of a team and under well defined timelines.
- Be dynamic and use strong interpersonal skills.
