Our Client is seeking to invite applications from suitably qualified nationals to fill the following position on contract for a period of three (3) years. Terms and conditions of employment are to be negotiated

QUANTITY SURVEY TECHNICIAN

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent is responsible for civil engineering/construction works for the preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimates, contract documents and valuation of payments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares cost estimates for projects.
  • Conducts project site and design/layout analysis, also valuations and variance analysis.
  • Performs all related fieldwork involved in measurement and determination of quantities for projects.
  • Assists in monitoring projects and conducting site visits to ensure conformity with project scope and specifications.
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including other agencies, on project matters.
  • Prepares project schedules and reports for submission to the Programme Manager.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Requirements

  • A Diploma or Certificate in Quantity Surveying from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years, experience in a similar/related field in the civil engineering/construction industry.
  • Any relevant combination of training and experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to respond under sometimes demanding deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal, negotiation, time management and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and able to work in a team environment.
