The North West Regional Health Authority (NWRHA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Welfare (Government Institution) has embarked on a project to remove, treat, and accommodate citizens who are currently living on the streets. The scope of the initiative includes hiring professionals from a diverse range of professions. PSYCHIATRIC SOCIAL WORKER I
Job summary
The incumbent will be responsible for professional casework services to mentally ill and emotionally disturbed patients. The work involves the study, evaluation and interpretation of the social, economic, emotional and environmental backgrounds of mentally ill patient to facilitate their adjustment and rehabilitation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATOINS AND TRAINING
- B.Sc. Degree in Social Work from an accredited and recognized University
- At least three (3) years’ experience in a similar or related job function
- Extensive experience in casework
- Should possess well-developed theoretical and practical knowledge, principles and practices of Psychiatric Social Work.
- Must be registered with the Council for the Professions related to Medical (1985).
