PROJECT MANAGER (On Contract)
Reports To: Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance
Job Summary: To provide project management service with respect to the implementation of the Property Valuation Information System for the Ministry of Finance including overseeing and coordinating the activities of the Project Office.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs the professional and non-professional staff of the Project Office.
- Reports to the Property Valuation Information System (PVIS) Steering Committee on the status of the project
- Leads in the development of plans and budgets for the information technology IT Infrastructure to support the successful implementation of the project
- Manages the completion of project deliverables according to the agreed project schedule
- Maintain a log of project related issues and collaborates with the Vendor’s Project Manager to ensure successful completion of the project
- Facilitates status meeting with Core Project Team to discuss progress, issues, and upcoming tasks
- Tracks project scope change
- Resolves project issues
- Manages all related contracts and licenses
- Maintains and updates the project plan
- Manages project closure.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of the commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the Public Service;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to develop strategic documents;
- Knowledge of Property Valuation Systems and associated Assessment and Billing business processes will be an asset.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related area
- At least ten (10) years experience in project management;
- Experience in government organizations, implementing IT projects, and Property Valuation Information Systems would be considered assets
