The South-West Regional Health Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions:

MANAGER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The role of the Manager, Information Technology is to plan, coordinate and direct the activities of the Information Technology Unit within the Authority to facilitate the execution of its strategic objectives.

He/She will also coordinate and provide leadership for new system development and current system enhancements and improvements; review, evaluate and develop proposals for new hardware/software and upgrades as appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING:

• A First Degree in Computer Science or a recognized equivalent computer qualification.
• At least five (5) years' experience in a similar position.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and organize integrated computerized information systems programs within complex organizations.
• Knowledge of computer networking and information management systems and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of current developments and technological trends in computer hardware and software.
• Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures in Information Technology.
• Ability to research, analyze and conceptualize long-term information systems needs on an organizational basis.
• Project management skills would be an asset.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Strong leadership and team building skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Any equivalent combination of qualifications, experience and training would be considered.
