TREASURY OPERATIONS
CHIEF DEALER
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop the Bank’s foreign exchange market and business targets as approved by the Treasurer.
- Lead, manage and grow the foreign exchange desk through full utilisation of, and/or introduction of new products to, the Bank’s foreign exchange suite.
- Actively monitor local, regional and international developments to formulate effective strategies to capitalize on emerging opportunities and/or mitigate risks.
- Conduct proprietary trading to ensure profitability and adherence to market convention and RBTT’s policies and procedures.
- Create and/or develop affiliations with local, regional and international dealers to enhance the Bank’s image and presence in the market inclusive of expanding existing correspondent relationships worldwide.
- Maintain a constant presence in the foreign exchange market to keep apprised of trends and developments that may impact the Bank’s foreign exchange position and operations. Matters of interest will include other local banks’ quoted rates; international developments; local system position; anticipated currency demand and supply; etc.
EDUCATION:
- A first degree in finance, economics or business.
(A background in economics would be an asset).
EXPERIENCE/SKILL SET:
- Minimum 4-5 years dealing experience
- Strong business and profit motivation
- Practical knowledge of banking and dealing systems
- Appreciation of bank risk management and operations.
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other relevant software
- superior written, oratory, marketing and inter-personal skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Ability to represent the Bank professionally
- Excellent Marketing/sales skills
- A team player
