POST OF LIMITED DURATION - TWO YEARS, FIRST YEAR PROBATIONARY
The Pan American Health Organization HIV/STI Caribbean Office, (PHCO) in Port of Spain, Trinidad is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of:
PROGRAMME SUPPORT SPECIALIST
(British Overseas Caribbean Territories)
Main Responsibility:
Providing support to the HIV project for the British Overseas Caribbean
Territories, (OCTs).

Knowledge and Experience:
Education: A university degree in health or social science or a re1ated field.
Desirable: A specialization in public health or social science.
Technical Expertise:
- Basic knowledge of HIV/AIDS natural history and epidemiology and a practical and theoretical understanding of the public health and gender approach to sexual/reproductive health to HIV/STI;
- In-depth knowledge of modern management principles and practices with specific emphasis on program management;
- Strong analytical, planning, operational and technology skills;
- Thorough theoretical and practical knowledge of managerial principles and practices, as well as good judgment to plan and execute tasks.
Experience:
Essential: Five years of professional experience in health services and human resources development related to HIV/STI, including project management and implementation.
Desirable:
Experience in multi-country project management and implementation would be an asset.
Languages:
Very good knowledge of English. Working knowledge of Spanish would be an asset.
