The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority is accepting applications for the position of DIRECTOR OF HOSPITAL SERVICES.

The Director of Hospital Services is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for the efficient and effective management of the Peebles Hospital and its Departments. This is conducted under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and in accordance with the policies of the BVI Health Services Authority Board and the Ministry of Health and Social Development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide sound leadership and management to implement the strategic direction and operation of the Peebles Hospital through the formulation, development, implementation and monitoring of services, strategies and operational plans.

• Direct, control and evaluate resources allocated to the Peebles Hospital to maximise the benefit to the Authority, community, staff and most of all patients of Peebles Hospital.
• Lead and direct the Hospital Management Teams in the enhancement and performance of defined strategies and objectives and ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Peebles Hospital.
• Ensure the development, reporting and utilization of appropriate performance data related to the hospital’s operations including but not limited to operational and annual reports and budgets.
• Interpret and advise the Chief Executive Officer on all matter related to Hospital’s operation including service or professional contracts and major expenditures related to the operation of the Peebles Hospital.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Masters Degree in Health Care /Hospital Administration, plus

• Five (5) years experience in Hospital Management, or related fields
• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to think strategically, and logically
• Strong leadership skills and understanding of the BVI health care environment ‘
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
