EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Methanex Trinidad is seeking to appoint suitably qualified nationals to the following positions:

PROCESS ENGINEER
This position applies advanced engineering principles to analyze/resolve plant issues and to initiate sustainable plant improvements for improved/sustained production volume, plant efficiency and reliability in the methanol plants.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides evaluations on assigned and self-initiated tasks (identifying, analyzing and recommending action to address abnormal and less efficient plant parameters).
  • Monitors process plants and provides assistance/support to the Operations Department as required.
  • Develops Plant Change Requests for projects within all degrees of complexity.
  • Applies advanced project management skills like cost and schedule tracking etc. (e.g. feasibility studies, financial analysis, detailed project plans).
  • Participates in and leads incident investigation teams for determining root cause/troubleshooting of problems and writing investigative reports (TapRoot software, etc).
  • Participates in and leads Process Hazard Analyses for projects within all degrees of complexity.
  • Initiates, prepares and reviews special operating procedures that involve process engineering e.g. catalyst handling, catalyst reduction, chemical, cleaning, refractory dry-outs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • BSc. Chemical and Process Engineering.
  • MSc. in related fields (or equivalent).
  • Over seven (7) years’ experience in Chemical and Process Engineering.
  • Experience with Aspen/Hysys, Advanced Project Management and Advanced Process Control.
  • Process Hazard Analysis Leader.
  • Equipment design and optimization.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
