Career Officers

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) is inviting applications for positions of Career Officers in its Student Affairs Unit. The candidates will be required to arrange placement services for trainees and graduates of UTT, provide counseling services to trainees and assist in the overall marketing of UTT.

MAIN DUTIES:
The successful candidates will be required to:

  • Maintain contact with business and industry to determine the needs for skilled personnel.
  • Analyze industry needs and maintain relevant information databases.
  • Organize and conduct placement services.
  • Conduct career guidance seminars and workshops on various topics including job orientation and workplace attitude.
  • Assist in the marketing of all UTT programmes and projects.
  • Develop and implement performance appraisal methods for assessment of trainees.
  • Conduct tracer studies.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management/Social Science/Engineering.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and networking skills.
  • Knowledge of the industrial & energy sectors in Trinidad and Tobago would be an asset.

Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

An attractive remuneration package will be offered commensurate with qualifications, and experience.
