SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

Jub Summary:
The main purpose of this position is to support the Database Systems in the production and test environments in Digicel Trinidad & Tobago including Installation, Configuration as well as Back up & Recovery. The position requires the DBA to perform regular preventive maintenance activities, monitor and optimize the performance of the database as well as ensure all security policies and procedures are followed to maintain the integrity of our data at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Comprehensive knowledge of RDBMS principles and administration (eg. Oracle 9 or 10, Sybase, MS SQL Server).
• Experience with call billing systems will be an asset.
• Knowledge/experience administering Unix and Windows XP/2003.
• Three (3) years as Database Administrator.
• Knowledge of telecommunication industry is an asset.
