Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Technicians
The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) is inviting applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the vacancies of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Technicians.
MAIN DUTIES:
The successful candidates must be able to:
- Conduct overall HSE inspections.
- Monitor and assist with remedial actions from HSE inspections, accident investigations and audits.
- Inspect fire prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
- Identify unsafe practices/conditions and prepare report of findings with recommendations for corrective action.
- Instruct employees on precautions, procedures and practices to eliminate accidental exposure to hazards.
- Assist with the preparation of emergency drills and risk assessment exercises, including defining controls to mitigate risks.
- Conduct HSE inspection on capital project works, when required.
- Work with HSE committees to develop a safety conscious team.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Five (5) CXC/O’Level passes including Mathematics and English.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience in the Health and Safety field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Good problem-solving skills.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
