The South-West Regional Health Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following positions:
WATER MANAGEMENT SERVICES TECHNICIAN
The Water Management Services Technician provides technical service in the provision and maintenance of water systems in health care institutions of the South-West Regional Health Authority. The health institutions operate on a 24 hour basis, and accordingly this person may be required to work on shift or "on call" arrangements.
The incumbent is required to operate and monitor water refinement equipment for potable water and water for biomedical purposes. He/she performs chemical, physical and microbiological tests and analyses for all plant processes.
REQUIREMENTS AND TRAINING:
- Technical Certificate in Chemistry or Microbiology from an accredited institution.
- Two (2) years' experience in water treatment.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, guidelines, codes and standards pertaining to water refinement equipment in health institutions.
- Knowledge of local and international codes for water quality for biomedical and potable use.
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and project applications.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret gauges, meters, charts and other monitoring and recording devices.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- An appropriate combination of training and experience.
